Set up shortcuts to save time
Learn how to instantly paste your meeting links into any message, email, or DM with one keystroke.
Why use text replacement shortcuts?
Setting up shortcuts takes seconds, while making it effortless to share your booking links anywhere you type. Instead of going to your dashboard or copying and pasting each time you want to share your link, you can use text replacement shortcuts, small codes (eg. "qm30") that automatically expand into your full Supercal links (eg. "supercal.com/yourname/30").
How shortcuts work
Each of your booking pages can be associated with an optional shortcut code, which is trigged by typing your shortcut start phrase (in this case "q") along with the link specific phrase (eg., "30"). For example:
Typing
q30
could expand into your 30-minute meeting link (supercal.com/sam/30
).Typing
qq30
could expand into a quick 30-minute call link.Typing
qcoffee
could expand into your coffee chat booking page.
When you type the shortcut in any app (email, Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp, etc.), it instantly replaces the code with the full link.
Setting up shortcuts
On Desktop (Mac/Windows): Add text replacements through your operating system settings, or use Supercal’s shortcut manager (found in Settings → Shortcuts).
On iOS: Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Text Replacement. Add your shortcut (e.g.,
q30
) and the full Supercal link.On Android: Go to Settings → System → Languages & input → Personal dictionary. Add your shortcut and paste the full link.
Once added, these shortcuts work everywhere on your device.
Best practices for shortcut codes
Keep them short and memorable (e.g.,
q15
,q30
,q60
).Use a consistent format (like always starting with
q
followed by the meeting type).Avoid common words or phrases to prevent accidental triggers.
Updating shortcuts
If you ever update a booking page link, be sure to update the corresponding shortcut in your device’s settings or in Supercal’s shortcut manager.
Pro tips for shortcuts
Use across devices: Shortcuts sync across iCloud (iOS/macOS) and Google accounts (Android/Chromebooks), so you only need to set them up once.
Think beyond time: Create shortcuts for specific meeting types like
qcoffee
,qdemo
, orqvip
.Combine with signatures: Add shortcuts into your email signature or canned responses for maximum efficiency.
With text replacement shortcuts, you’ll never need to hunt for a booking link again. Just type a quick code, and Supercal does the rest.
